Home Decorations

Here are a few bits and pieces that we have around the house to add a bit of decoration. As we have just moved everything is still all over the place and we hope to get more decor in to make it feel more homely but here are a few pieces that we already had or have been gifted :)

I bought this pillow from Primark a few weeks back and I am absolutely in love with it. The back is all floral print and this is the front view. I cannot remember the exact price but I know it was in the sale and was no more than £5. This is currently living on the sofa.

This is a tea cup candle that my Godmother got me for Christmas last year and I absolutely love it. I recently built up the courage to start burning it and it smells wonderful. It has almost burnt out now but I will still use it for decorative purposes and will hopefully find a way of making another candle to go in it. This was bought from a local shop but I know you can purchase similar ones online.

This is the cutest little cushion I have ever seen. We had our house warming party the Saturday night just gone and one of my closest friends got me this for the house. It is only little so it currently sits on my bedside table. This is from NEXT HOME and I am unsure of the price but I am sure it is still in store or online.

This adorable little heart shaped dream catcher was a present from my Boyfriend's mum as last week she came from her holiday to Cornwall. She got it from a little touristy type shop and it only cost her £2. I love it and it hangs perfectly about our bed under the fairy lights :)

This is the centre piece that is currently on our coffee table in the living room. It is a glass fish bowl from my Boyfriends mum's wedding last year that I cleaned out and filled with green glass pebbles. I then put a Big white candle in it and placed it on the centre of the table with 5 tea lights surrounding it. The tea lights are in little glass holders (which we found in the house when we moved) and the have little strings around them with hearts on.

I bought this bird cage candle months ago from a little shabby chic boutique that is in my local area. It came with a big white pillar candle in it but I can easily put other candles in it too. It cost me approx. £8 and it is made very well and sturdy. I would love to hang this from the ceiling in the bedroom or the living room but we haven't got round to putting a hook up yet so this is currently living on a bookshelf in our bedroom.

This picture I made myself. I took a sample of wallpaper from my local Wilkinsons and it had this birdcage design on it. I then went to my local Pound land and got the frame for...you guessed it...£1!! I simply cut the wallpaper to size and there you have it....easy peasy budget decorations :)

I'M BACKKKK!!

FINALLY I have returned to Blogger after what has been a very stressful and 'all over the place' few months. Since my last post in February me and my Boyfriend have moved house again! After living with my Boyfriends brother for a few months last year we decided to move into a flat with our friend who was expecting a baby. This was only temporary until we could find a place of our own and luckily my Boyfriend's brother was renting his house out after moving out with his partner so we got first dibs on the house. After previously living in the house before and knowing all of the neighbors and the surrounding area we decided it was a good idea and the perfect timing and we also have another housemate who is a friend of my Boyfriends. So after a few very stressful months we are all now happily settled and comfortable in somewhere that we can now call a home. Even though there is still a lot of work to do decorating and making it our own it is livable for now and we can't wait to get it finished :)

Over the past few months I have bought lots of bits and bobs that I can now review on my Blog and I have also been gifted a lot of products from friends. It is also my Birthday in 2 days so no doubt I will be doing a Birthday haul :D

It's good to be back :)

My belated Valentine's day present...

This year for Valentine's day me and my boyfriend didn't do it on the 14th Feb because we both didn't get paid until the 16th so we decided let's just do it on Saturday the 17th instead so Saturday morning I got to go to the MAC counter in Highcross Shopping Centre (Debenhams - Leicester) and pick my first ever MAC lipstick (yayyy)

Seeing as I think they are extremely overpriced (It's just really pretty packaging isn't it?) I wanted to get my money's worth and pick a colour I could wear everyday so I had a look and fell in love with 'creme cup'
It is a pick nude shade and is a cremesheen formula.

I have wore it everyday so far since I got it and I am in love with the formula, the smell (vanilla!) and the lasting power. I would repurchase this but like I said I think they are very over priced when you can get lippies from MUA for just £1, which are amazeballs, so I think MAC will be a treat product for me. My birthday is in May so I am planning to go back to the counter then and maybe get another lippie and even get matched for a foundation (If I have the money)

Overall I am very impressed with this lipstick :) <3

The picture I posted on Instagram when it was bought on Saturday :)

(looks rather coral in this picture but it's just the lighting)

In return I cooked him steak with peppercorn sauce, mushrooms and mashed potato and I am booking him in for a tattoo in a couple of weeks :)

NOTW

I mixed the lilac colour myself using a number of different colours and brands. I added a matte top coat over the lilac then added 3 different glitter polishes on the tips and allowed to dry overnight. This was done on false nails I had lying about and then I stuck them on with a cheap nail glue I had from a nail set.

NOTW

I get my false nails in boxes of 40 from Bodycare for £1. They come with a nail file and nail glue. I find the nails that correctly fit each nail and then I Blue Tac them to a long metal skewer I have so they are secure to paint. I paint each nail with my design and let them dry, taking my time between each colour and layer as to not smudge any of the polish. I finish with 2 coats of Top Coat and leave to dry over night.

These are the ones I designed and wore for my little sister's 18th Birthday last weekend and they are still on my nails now :)

SWATCHES: Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette

I bought this little beauty over Christmas and it is my first ever Sleek palette. I chose this one because I love the dark colours for smokey eyes and the neutral colours I can use every day. This palette comes with 3 matte shades and the other 9 are all shimmery.
I used the top 2 right colours the other night for an eye shadow look and these shadows are so easy to work with and I was amazed at the stayed power of them. For some reason I find it hard to make eye shadows stick ALL day (even with a primer) because I suffer with quite oily eye lids but these really amazed me. I think this will quickly become one of my most used palettes for both day and night looks and I can't wait to try some of the other palettes in their range.

Bargain Find!

Whilst strolling through Tesco at the weekend I came across the face mask on offer for only £1 so I thought I would pop it into my basket and give it a whirl. The description on the back says 'Be lazy at least once a week, relax while this great mask does the work for you! Balance active formula snake venom face mask contains syn-ake, natural clay and invigorating orange oil'
The natural clay is to help absorb pollutants and excessive sebum, the syn-ake is a snake venom like neuropeptide to help soften the look of wrinkles and the orange oil helps to moisturizer and refresh, for £1 who could resist that!?

I tried this mask for the first time last night, After cleansing my face i put a thin layer of the mask all over my face and left it to dry for 10 minutes. I then washed it off with a warm flannel. When I first put the mask on it tingled and almost slightly stung a little but that's a sure sign it's working to me :) It was easy to wash off and was very little mess and it left my face feeling extremely soft and fresh and non drying at all.
Over all a good impulse buy for me :)
